your celebrity brand voice is
Tory Burch
Hey! I’m Nikki and I’m here to help you make sense of what this all means. Watch this short video and let’s have some fun!
Brand Voice: refined, elegant, charming, sophisticated, empowering
Ready to get help showing up in a bigger way with your marketing and earning five-figure months?
With fans like Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Kerry Washington, Oprah Winfrey, and Blake Lively, Tory Burch has become known for her high end, boho-preppy designs. #girlcrewgoals
You may even own a pair of her signature ballet flats or globally inspired thong sandals.
The Tory Burch brand is all about accessible luxury, sophistication, and women’s empowerment. The last one — that’s why she created the Tory Burch Foundation to support women owned businesses with financing, mentoring, and education. Maybe you have dreams of one day giving back in a big way, too.
But what her brand voice really comes down to is her engaging personal story reflected throughout her brand and designs and her mission to support women entrepreneurs.
Even though she’s lived a life of luxury, she still shares her struggles of being a working mom and entrepreneur.
So if your brand voice is like Tory’s, you appeal to a more specific target audience that values status. They like the finer things in life and are willing to spend more of their disposable income. That means you have to build trust with them, and that takes time and clarity of your brand messaging.
Tory has a distinct brand story, and although she wants the brand to be attainable to a broader audience than other luxury brands, she always strikes an aspirational tone that elevates how her brand is perceived as a premium offering.
You, my friend, are that elevated option in your space. Don’t get lost in the multitude of middledom.
Mid-tier packages and offers. Middle of the road messaging. Mid-range pricing. All because you’re worried you won’t have enough customers and people won’t pay your premium prices.
Stop that!
And like Tory, your impact can go far beyond your business alone. You can make a much greater difference once you establish your own financial freedom first, just as she did.
You have something amazing to offer the world that only you can deliver. Your goal now is to position yourself as the authority in your industry and connect with your audience to build trust that you are the go-to for them. They have higher expectations than your average buyer, but you’re up to the task. It’s time to step onto your own runway, and make your voice heard.
How to Create and Execute Your Brand Voice in Your Messages and Communication (examples):
-
Be charming, without being aloof
-
Be authoritative, but not condescending
-
Be polished, but speak like a human
-
Be sophisticated, not stuffy
-
Be classy, but not frou-frou
1. Create a Pinterest Board.
Create a mood board that embodies your brand personality. Start collecting and pinning images, quotes, fonts, people, colors, photos, anything that inspires you and makes you feel the way you want your ideal customer to feel when they experience your brand. And the things you add to your mood board don’t have to be directly related to your brand. They just need to reflect the feel of the brand.
2. Choose your Brand Vibeology.
You should start to notice patterns and themes emerging from your mood board. Write down all of the words that come to mind when you look at your board. Using your mood board, your brand personality, and what you know about your ideal customer, pick 3-4 adjectives that best describe your brand and how you want people to feel when they interact with it.
3. Define Your Brand Voice Guardrails.
Just like we need markers on the road to keep us from veering off road, we need guides to keep us on track when we communicate to our audience. Now that you know the words you’d use to describe your brand voice, it’s time to make sure your messaging stays on brand. You can do that with a simple “This Not That” statement, like this: “We’re funny, but not sarcastic.”
Hi there,
I’m Nikki Bradley.
I’m a brand strategist, business coach, speaker, God girl, wife, mom, and closet dance diva. Well, maybe I haven’t done such a great job keeping that one a secret. I literally dance all the time. I’m talking jazz hands, 90’s rump shaking, pirouettes, chair tap dancing (yes, it’s a thing), or kitchen salsa dancing with my daughter…to all types of music. Seriously, my Apple Music looks like it belongs to 27 different people.
But what brings me joy every day is getting to help entrepreneurs like you do 3 things:
1) package their purpose and gifts into profitable products & services,
2) craft their unique marketing messages, and
3) show up as the biggest, baddest, dopest version of themselves so that they can serve more and sell more.
Now I’ll be honest, I did NOT have this figured out when I first started out. Even as a corporate sales and marketing executive who had worked with some of the biggest companies in the world, it took me a while to nail down my own voice.
But now, I help my coaching clients and students find theirs too so that they can stand out in their industry and start attracting more qualified clients that will actually pay them what they’re worth.
SO GREAT to meet you, but before we go any further…
It would be awesome if getting these quiz results were the ticket to making a radical shift in how you show up for your brand and BOOK ALL THE CLIENTS YOU WANT, but IF YOU NEED MORE…
